UPDATE:
It has been confirmed that all terminals at Port of Brisbane will remain closed until Saturday 8th March at 0700hrs or until it is safe to reopen.
Empty container parks are now also closed.
Tropical Cylone Alfred is tracking towards Brisbane QLD
At this stage the Brisbane Airport remains open and operational.
We have been informed that DP World & Patricks both ceased operations on Friday 28/02 at 5pm. Hutchisons ceased operations today 03/03 at 10am.
Empty parks will continue to take empty containers until they are at capacity or weather conditions worsen.
General transport & warehouse operations ate running as usual.
The Port of Brisbane has released a statement today regarding operations at the terminals.
Dear Port Stakeholders
Under direction from Maritime Safety Queensland’s Regional Harbour Master, all inbound shipping movements have been suspended due to unfavourable conditions at pilot boarding grounds off Mooloolaba.
At this point in time, outbound vessels under pilotage can disembark today in daylight hours.
As TC Alfred develops, Port of Brisbane’s Operations Team will continue to work closely with MSQ to ensure operations only occur under safe conditions. We recommend Port Tenants carry out their own severe weather preparation processes, including tying down any equipment or plant, securing all cargoes and reducing container stacks where possible.
Further communication will be provided as necessary.
Kind regards
PBPL Team
Please note any additional charges relating to the storm (including but not limited to: missed time slots, re-slotting, driver waiting time, change of veesel fees, container detention etc) will be passed on as required. We will of course speak up for you and request waiver or reduction of fees, where possible.
Transport carriers have advised: "The safety of staff comes first and is our primary concern".
We will provide further updates as conditions change.
The team at DDWL.
